Brainteaser for Kids

TRY this short brain teaser (answer at the end of the post)

If you have it, you want to share it, but if you share it, you don’t have it. What is it?

Hi there,

From Day 1 I started my blog, I knew I wanted to recommend brainteasers for kids!

Why do I love so much brainteasers for kids and for adults?

  • They can be played alone! (which sometimes allows you to cook, rest or do anything needed)

  • They make our brain work (and you can feel it!)

  • They force us to think outside the box! (sometimes, it gets tough and you need to change strategy or thinking pattern)

  • They make us practice perseverance, one of the most needed skill today, in this “instant generation”.

  • While playing, your brain works! I love when you get 2 in 1. I am the type of mom who always look for efficiency! 2 in 1, 3 in 1😊

But, to be totally honest, my own experience at home with my kids (my older 2 daughters) taught me that brainteasers work well until a certain age (here, until 8 years old).

I am sure it is not a general statement but personal to my kids as I have seen lots of kids loving this type and category, usually the kids who look for challenges, the ones who like the harder stuff!

So until they were 8 or 9 years old, they felt the play effect or the quality play time alone with mom so they would sit down together with me and we would give it 30 minutes of brain teasing! But once they grew up, they just rather bring other games for our quality time! They probably got the point that the brain is working, a bit hard!

At least I still have my 6 years old boy who still enjoys brainteasers with me😊

I wish to recommend the 10 brainteasers for kids I either play, played or love, know and appreciate the company who developed it, so those recommended brainteasers for kids in this below list  are a ”sure purchase” either as a gift to your grandchildren or friends or just for home for a fun brain work in the afternoon when too hot or too cold outside!

10 Recommended brainteasers for Kids

I just love this game. Very smart, making you think outside the box, help you practice and get better, fits all levels and ages! You need to find a way for the red car to get out and every card provides a different challenge arranging the other cars and trucks in a different manner.  WELL DONE!!

Basic brain teaser, I remember from my youth and still exists today. Makes you think and think and again think , until you get the right way! Tough for the “instinct” new generation!

Another brainteaser for kids I just love and play myself. Every page tells you how many of which animals you need to hide or see and you need to arrange the 4 parts in a certain manner for it. Lots of levels and great to learn and improve step by step!

We have this one too. Fun to play with the fingers, never-ending play. Great for younger or older kids. You need to match each little ball to the color around it. great for fine motor skill too and even learn colors for younger ones!

Basic metal and wooden teasers, here you get a full pack so there is plenty of time to play with. Great to try until you get it.

I love this game company. Their products are smart and well done. The goal is to build paths to connect the knight and the princess. You have many challenges that get more difficult with time and practice.

Another one from same company: Smart Games. I have this one too here and like to play once in a while. Makes you think how to create each form and color. You need to use different parts, each with a different color and shape, and create an image provided.

Again from Smart Games, this one we received as a gift. You need to compile the parts in the car based on specific challenges that get tougher…

The penguins I saw when my first child was going to occupational therapy. The goal is to keep the Penguins on the ice! Penguins on Ice features 80 challenges where players use their brains to place the shifting, pentomino pieces with penguins on the board to solve each puzzle.

12 colorful cubes.
80 different puzzles.

You need to move the cubes so you it matches the challenge provided…
