Best Gifts for Babies under 1

“I think, at a child’s birth, if a mother could ask a fairy godmother to endow it with the most useful gift, that gift would be curiosity.” —Eleanor Roosevelt

This article will discuss the best gifts for babies under 1.

It will include products for baby care but also developmental toys I wish to recommend for that early age and the reasons why.

New parents in the U.S. are expected to spend an average of $7,000 the first year on the diapers, milk, and daycare for a new infant. The medical costs are not included. So lets check the gifts that family and friends can purchase that will help the young families but also have a benefit for the baby.

I will concentrate on products that usually parents do not buy themselves for whatever reason and that are great to receive as gifts from people around us. Parents buy what they absolutely need or products that must be chosen personally after a trial, like baby carrier, stroller  or diaper bag.

As far as diaper bag I found a company making a diaper bag for DAD…Try Tactical Dad!!

Here is a list of 20 GIFTS I compiled for friends and family wanting to buy a gift for babies under 1:

1-Hooded towel:

This is a very practical product, used daily and no matter if there are older kids at home who had this product before, each baby needs a new one! I wish to recommend  green sprout towel as well as Liewood Albert Baby towel in Dark Cat Rose

2-Organic blanket:

Again a product that is always useful, always appreciated and parents mostly do not invest in it so much, especially not organic cotton. I wish to recommend the Green Sprout.

3- Mealtime set:

This is another gift that parents tend not to invest money in. You can find a wonderful set at greensprout  as well as from Liewood, another wonderful gift, beautiful, original and of high quality.

Another beautiful set is the Avanchy Baby Bamboo Stay Put Suction Plate + Spoon, Grey

4- Storage solutions:

Here is another great gift, always useful and many times needed.

Check especially the Lorena Canals Baby Basket in Natural / Terracotta

as well as the Ferm Living Pear Braided Storage Basket Large

I believe we all need to work on baby tummy time. Allowing from early age your baby to be on his tummy, helps develop stronger neck and shoulders and this is what will help her later on turn around and scrawl. This is a very important stage where we, parents, need to be aware and understand the consequences. Sometimes, our baby cries and does not feel comfortable in that position and this is where we need to read about it and understand the importance and how to exercise slowly more and more, start with a minute few times a day when baby is awake. More can be read in this article about importance of tummy time.

Another great gift that will help baby stay on his tummy:

My last recommendation for baby gifts under Age of 1 is a subscription at Bluum, a company I work with. I recommend a subscription there because baby gets lots of goodies every month and they are very selective in products they add into the boxes, meaning only good products get to you and the variety is large.

Buying a gift for babies under 1 is not always easy since we are often afraid the parents already have everything needed, or that they will not like it but I truly believe that if we focus on practical products usually parents do not buy or developmental toys, it is always a winner, well received, useful and very much appreciated!
