Shopping for a cause: Gifts, toys and essentials for kids

I firmly believe that any man’s finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle – victorious.

Hello parents and grandparents!

Today, I have compiled a list of products for kids that you can purchase which has the added benefit of making a greater impact on other people, including the environment or non-profit organizations of your choice.

I try to be involved in the society around me, in education, minorities…. I believe in cooperation with each other (check HERE importance of cooperative play), helping one another and giving charity is crucial for all of us. It is also a great way to educate our kids to be more mindful, considerate, thinking of others around them who might need more, animals without a home, or giving care to our elders– essentially, anything that matters and takes us out of our own self serving interest. Check my last trip to Africa with my daughter.

Based on psychology today:

“Research has found many examples of how doing good, in ways big or small, not only feels good, but also does us good.

For instance, the well-being-boosting and depression-lowering benefits of volunteering have been repeatedly documented. As has the sense of meaning and purpose that often accompanies altruistic behavior.

Even when it comes to money, spending it on others predicts increases in happiness compared to spending it on ourselves. Moreover, there is now neural evidence from fMRI studies suggesting a link between generosity and happiness in the brain.

For example, donating money to charitable organizations activates the same (mesolimbic) regions of the brain that respond to monetary rewards or sex. In fact, the mere intent and commitment to generosity can stimulate neural change and make people happier.” (check article about kindness)

So the idea of buying products that also served a cause really spoke to me. If you can buy gifts or essentials for your kids while also helping someone else, its truly an added bonus! The perfect win-win! There are options like that all over the internet.

I tried to compile kids products I found and studied and hope this will help you shopping for a cause, helping others while shopping for your own kids:
