Hello,
DIY (Do It Yourself) is a growing category in toys but this is probably because of its many benefits:
- Builds confidence as children can do it on their own that will also bring lots of satisfaction!
- Allows Some non-screen time, which is always a great thing!
- Promotes creativity and self-expression. Many times, those kits do not have exact instructions and you can choose the colors or your choice.
- Experience with your own senses: learn to mix, feel, build…
I wrote about DIY in that article with the Stanley Jr. wood kits which I highly recommend, personally!
I also wrote about the beautiful Pixie Crew here, where children create their own designs with pixels on back to school essentials (backpacks, pouches, pencil cases, journals…).

Today, I wish to talk about DIY for girls specifically. This is a bit against my non-gender preference and sorry if boys might like them to. Lets say generally speaking girls love those ones!
