Family card games are fun, usually easy to learn, small and light to bring anywhere and store.

I keep a whole drawer here of those. Each child at his age likes different card games.

Card games create opportunities for face-to-face play, conversation, taking turns and following rules.

Playing cards is an easy way for several different generations to sit down together, and grandparents and parents say games afford an unusual opportunity to bond with children.

Here are our 7 favorite family card games and why:

  1. Mistigri- 4-7 y. old: mainly based on luck, the young children learn to hide their excitement so Mistigri card does not remain in their hands! Not sure why but older kids 12+ also love this game! Fits family with various age which is a big advantage!

2. Diamoniak -5+ years old:

Young children learn to compile 6 cards of same color and build their castle first, before a witch comes and takes 3 cards! Teaches them to sometimes earn and sometimes loses, to keep other cards and help or play more strategically and throw others castle cards. Fun, easy, quick feedback.

3. Sleeping queens – 8+ formally but we started here from 5.5 years old!

Young children learn numbers, counting, strategy. Competitive but fun. You need to be the first one to awake 4 or 5 queens and you have few ways to get queens. Easy to learn and fun to play 2 or more players.

Here is myself and my boy playing and loving it!!

4. TAKI -6 + years old:

Real Classic family card game. Children learn colors, rules and strategy in an easy way.

5. Rat-a-tat-cat for 6+ years old:

Helps short-term memory, practices numbers and works on impulse reactions of younger ones!

6. CONEZILLA 6+ years old:

Practices numbers up to 50 and works on short-term memory.

7.Anomia 10+ years old : works on rapidity, general knowledge, grammar. Fun & funny!
