How having a dog at home affects our children?
We say education starts at home. One example is the decision to get a dog!
By having a dog at home, you are teaching your child certain values that tougher to impart to them. One such value is empathy. The reason why having a dog could teach a child empathy is rather obvious. When the child starts to care for the dog, it brings the child’s attention away from itself but onto the dog instead. As such, the development of empathy arises when the child is able to read cues from the dog, like its body language or even gestures, and these help the child to hone his empathy.
When you start to train and communicate with the dog, your child will learn the importance of patience and responsibility too. When you ask the child to walk the dog, or to clean up after the dog, you are actually imparting a sense of responsibility in them while helping them to be patient too.
One way to help your child in developing a sense of responsibility is by getting the child to conjure up some DIY dog toys that is easy to make.

2. Cloth Tug Toy:
This is perhaps the easiest one to do. Items you need include a T-Shirt and a tennis ball. To do so, lay the shirt on the flat and cut the T-shirt into 3 places. Once you cut it correctly, place the two widest stripes in an X formation, and place the tennis ball right in the middle. Proceed then use the small piece of shirt and wrap the toy up while snipping off the excess cloth! There you have it! Your perfect tug toy! This is pretty similar to this tug toy on Amazon.
3. Plastic Tug Toy
By using simple materials, you can create one of the best DIY dog toys for your dog. For this project, all you need is a plastic bottle as well as a yard of fabric. Cut the yard into 4 stipes about 1 inch in width, then use the remaining fabric to wrap around the bottle. Once down, use the 4 1-inch stripes and tie the bottle up, while cutting the remaining fabric thereafter. A similar toy can be found on Amazon.
4. T-Shirt Rope Toy
Another popular dog toy on amazon is the Rope toy. Your child can make one by using ropes too! Use the following guide to help your child out.
